Homeschoolers' and the Fort Worth Regional Science Fair

Parents, if you live in TEA region 11, you can send your own homescholars to the Fort Worth Science and Engineering Fair:
  1. Students in Grades 6 through 12 who live in Wise, Palo Pinto, Parker, Tarrant, Hood, Johnson, Somervell, Cooke, Denton, Erath or Eastland counties (TEA region 11) during the 2008/2009 School Year may enter.
  2. "Students who attend a school that does not have a District Fair and home school students may participate in the Regional Fair if their projects have been reviewed and recommended by at least one science teacher." - Fort Worth Regional Rules
  3. They can also win in a district science fair to be eligible, but it must be held in one of the TEA region 11 counties.
So, like the Dallas Regional, the Fort Worth Regional allows homeschool students to participate if they have advanced through a district science fair like ours. However, because it is held in Collin County, NTDSF cannot send winners to the Fort Worth Science and Engineering Fair. But, we may have a teacher who can recommend projects. Even so, we require the student to fully participate. This allows the teacher to more fully evaluate the project. We do welcome your projects to win our prizes and for practice, but we can't garantee that we will have a teacher who can recommend them to the FortWorth Regional.
